The EP Quintet is a modern jazz ensemble bringing to life the compositions of saxophonist Élisabeth Provencher. Influenced by various musical eras, the group’s pieces will remind you of Monk, Shorter, Binney, and Blade, in a blend filled with sensitivity and musicality.

The EP Quintet has been around since 2015 and consists of the following instruments: saxophone, trumpet, piano, double bass, and drums. We have performed in several bars and concert venues. We were part of the Soleil series at the Oratoire St-Joseph in 2017 and the summer program in Victoriaville in 2016 and 2017. Subsequently, our performances were featured in several competitions such as the TUJF in Toronto in 2017, Emerging Artist at Carré 150 in Victoriaville in 2018, and the competition at JPLJazzFest in 2019. The launch of my album “Le monde adulte” took place at L’Astral in June 2021. More recently, we were part of the Jazz en rafale live Cam programming in November 2021 and an episode of the Jazz@vue show on MaTV that was released in September 2022. It is possible to hear me talk about the group and to listen to 3 of my compositions. I feel very privileged to have an episode featuring my music in a series showcasing other renowned musicians such as François Bourassa, Gentiane MG, Beth McKenna, and Rafael Zaldivar. We also participated in the Montreal Jazz Festival in July 2023.

The EP Quintet presents their new album “Le convoi des oies,” which will be launched on May 5, 2024, at the Claude-Léveillée Hall at Place des Arts.
