As part of the closing show presented by Québecor, the International Rimouski Jazz Festival is proud to offer you an evening featuring the performance of Ian and Friends.

Discover Ian and Friends, the new project of Gaspesian bassist and musician Ian Lévesque. Recognized and highly respected in the Quebec music scene, Ian has honed his skills alongside great Quebec artists such as Laurence Jalbert, Luce Dufault, France D’Amour, Shawn Phillips, and many others. Alongside these artists, Ian graces impressive stages and platforms: he has opened for Céline Dion (Centre Bell), ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, and Maurane (TARATATA, France). In 2015, he shares the stage with two members of the Allman Brothers Band. Inspired by their passion and camaraderie, he thus founds Ian and Friends, a collective of seasoned musicians. Among them are: Julien Blais (Cœur de Pirate, Melissa Auf Der Maur), Antoine Lemieux-Rinfret (Nanette Workman, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Hubert Lenoir), Louis Fernandez (Pascale Picard, Patrice Michaud, Gabrielle Shonk, Daran), and Jonny Arsenault (La Voix, Marc Dupré, Les Respectacles).

Combining the essence of jazz with a blues-rock context, where improvisation takes center stage, Ian and Friends offer you a unique musical experience. Each performance is a new artistic exploration, each note an unprecedented journey. Thus, each show is exceptional, as the interpretation and choice of repertoire constantly evolve and offer you, among others, hits from the Allman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tower Of Power, or even from the group The Band.
