Grand Prix de la relève
The Grand Prix de la relève Festi Jazz – LOJIQ is a contest for the next generation of jazz musicians, aspiring professionals, who are judged on their performance during the Festi Jazz International de Rimouski. Since 2011, the Festi Jazz International de Rimouski dedicates a series of four shows in its program to the new generation. At the end of the four performances, a jury will select an artist or a group that has distinguished itself by its compositions, its sense of improvisation, its stage presence, its arrangements and its relationship with the public, to be the winner of the Grand Prix de la relève Festi Jazz.
By receiving this title, the winning artist or group earns various dissemination opportunities, such as taking charge of the organization of performances as part of a provincial, national or international tour (to be determined according to possibilities). The Festi Jazz Grand Prize winner is also invited to perform as an opening act for an established jazz artist during the closing show of the current Festi Jazz, in addition to being registered and invited to hold a booth at the ROSEQ fall meeting.
