Ben Boardman Quartet

As part of the Grand Prix de la Relève Festi Jazz – Promutuel 2023, we are proud to present the Ben Boardman Quartet!

The Ben Boardman Quartet is a new band featuring Cedric de Saint-Rome, Louis Plouffe and Paulo Riccardo. The four members met in one of McGill’s most renowned jazz ensembles and have been performing together ever since.

The band uses elements of African-American music such as jazz, R&B and hip-hop, creating new sounds and textures within the conventions of jazz music. Although each band member has different stylistic backgrounds, their individual strengths are used to create a unified band sound all their own.

An essential element of jazz music is taking improvisational risks. The Ben Boardman quartet amplifies this concept by exploring new musical horizons through multi-genre improvisation. Each performance is an exciting experience not to be missed!
