2024 program unveiled!

From August 29 to September 1, Rimouski will be vibrating to the rhythm of the 38th Festi Jazz International de Rimouski, presented by Québecor. Against a backdrop of sea air, the downtown area will play host to a program that promises to surprise and charm seasoned festival-goers and the curious alike.

Iconic jazz figures such as Fred Hersh, Christine Jensen and Susie Arioli will be on hand, along with a number of artists from diverse backgrounds. The event will be illuminated by a variety of sonic influences, from the Afropop of Pierre Kwenders and AIZA, to the bewitching rhythms of Thai-born drummer Salin, and the vibrant flamenco of guitarist Matt Sellick. Urban Science Brass Band will liven up the Saturday evening with their electrifying hip-hop. The public is invited to join in the festivities from 5pm on Thursday, August 31. The 2024 edition features a dynamic, inclusive program with over 40 events. The opening concert, presented by Toyota Rimouski, will feature Kim Richardson. To close the festival, Québecor presents Ian and friends, a collective of seasoned musicians who blend the essence of jazz with a blues-rock context.

Series for all and improved services for all

As expected, the downtown area will proudly display the Place Festi Jazz Québecor. Shows from the Grands Spectacles, Nuits Jazz Toyota, Éclatée Québecor, Grand Prix de la relève Festi Jazz – Mallette, and Journée en jazz series will punctuate the program, accompanied by DJs and outdoor entertainment. To round off the days, the Oiseaux de Nuit series returns for a third year running. The festival site will be laid out in a warm and inviting atmosphere, with Norea fireplaces, a children’s area, a playground for children, bean bagsThere’ll be food stalls, a bar, an outdoor stage, and entertainment for the whole family, including a Parents & Kids show presented in collaboration with SNEQ and Alphabet. Sunday’s Family Day, presented by Pharmacie de Mireille Martin et Gabrielle Marcoux, will delight young and old with a variety of activities.
