BLAMM

As part of the Journée en Jazz Desjardins series, the Festi Jazz International de Rimouski, presented by Québecor and in collaboration with Desjardins, is proud to present a performance by BLAMM.

BLAMM is a carnival for the ears, with extravagant songs featuring a powerful brass section. Folk, funk, swing, soul, waltz and country blend together in an unbridled vintage universe. Groove, dance, sing and laugh. A veritable merry-go-round of emotions, his texts move from the absurd to the tragic, from the trivial to the existential, in a joual that has no tongue in its pocket. Cries from the heart, earworms, winks, wordplay and paradoxes, this brass band delivers contrarian compositions that leave no one indifferent.

Before becoming BLAMM, Blanche M. Méthé played trumpet, tuba and euphonium in a number of Montreal bands, as well as singing. She has played traditional jazz (Fanfare de l’Île), folk-sale (Tintamare), Balkan brass bands (Sumak Brass Band), cumbia fusion (Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra) and multi-influenced compositions (Méduse, Times New Woman).
