As part of the Animations series, the Festi Jazz international de Rimouski presented by Vidéotron is proud to present a performance by Electrojazziness.
Electrojazziness is a Canadian duo that fuses jazz, electronic music, freestyle, and experimental sound into electrifying live performances. The project brings together pianist Alex McNally-Gagnon (Montréal, QC) and producer-vocalist Sami Majdali (Tihissam) (Nelson, BC / Palestine), two seasoned improvisers from radically different musical backgrounds.
Every performance is entirely improvised, with no computers or pre-recorded tracks. Piano, synthesizers, electronic rhythms, and multilingual freestyle vocals are created and manipulated live, producing rich, immersive soundscapes shaped by the interaction between the artists and the audience. Each concert is therefore a unique and living experience.
Founded in Montréal in 2024 following a series of spontaneous public performances, Electrojazziness quickly gained momentum on the live scene. In 2025, the duo completed a grant-supported tour of 15 venues across British Columbia, performing at festivals, arts centres, and dance spaces. A Quebec tour is planned for summer 2026. Rooted in the jazz tradition while embracing exploration and experimentation, the project creates playful, inclusive experiences that invite audiences to become part of the creative process.
