As part of the Toyota Rimouski Jazz Nights series, the Rimouski International Festi Jazz presented by Vidéotron in collaboration with Toyota Rimouski is proud to present a performance by the Emie R Roussel Trio.

Nominated for the JUNOS (Jazz Album of the Year: Group) and winner of the SOCAN Hagood Hardy Jazz Award in 2021, the Emie R Roussel Trio will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026. Recipient of numerous awards over the years — including the 2018 Stingray Rising Stars Award, the 2015 ADISQ Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year (Quantum), the 2013–14 Opus Prize for Jazz Album of the Year (Transit), and the Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation title for 2014–2015 — the Emie R Roussel Trio has established itself as a cornerstone of the Canadian jazz scene. With five albums acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, both nationally and internationally, since its formation in 2010, the trio has also had the opportunity to shine on the international stage many times, presenting its music in 12 countries across four continents.

After 15 years of musical connection and collaboration, the Emie R Roussel Trio unveils its sixth album and new concert project: TERR. The result of deep musical reflection, free from compromise or stylistic constraints. Between acoustic instruments and electric textures, the trio navigates between dynamic energy and intimate introspection.

TERR. Like our world, our history, and all that unites us. We are the flowers of the same soil, sharing a common memory. Orbiting within this vast universe, we witness its immensity and strength, but also its profound vulnerability. However, in the middle of this fragile infinity, we search for grounding. Where our footsteps intersect, we take root to draw balance and comfort. Between fertile atmospheres and pulsating rhythms, this concert captures shadow and light, offering refuge to the soul that surrenders itself to the experience.
