ABOUT
As part of the Grand Spectacles Series, presented by Vidéotron, the Festi Jazz international de Rimouski is proud to present a performance by Keyon Harrold.
Keyon Harrold is a Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and producer whose genre-defying music blends jazz, hip-hop, R&B, blues, soul, and cinematic storytelling. Having collaborated with artists ranging from Jay-Z and Nas to YEBBA and Robert Glasper, his work spans the stage, the recording studio, and the silver screen. A Concord Jazz recording artist and Artistic Advisor for Jazz St. Louis, Harrold uses music as both a form of expression and activism, redefining the role of the modern musician.
Keyon Harrold is a Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and producer whose music transcends boundaries. Working at the intersection of multiple genres, he fuses jazz, hip-hop, R&B, blues, and cinematic soul to create a distinctive sound that is both raw and refined, moving and electrifying. Building a career founded on versatility and excellence, Harrold has established himself as one of the most compelling voices in modern music. His latest album, Foreverland (2024, Concord Jazz), follows The Mugician (2017, Sony Legacy), the critically acclaimed release that redefined the role of the trumpet in contemporary music.
A platinum-certified producer and sought-after collaborator, he has worked with some of the biggest names and most influential figures of his generation, including Jay-Z, Common, Nas, Maxwell, Black Pumas, Mac Miller, Keith Richards, YEBBA, Robert Glasper, Sam Henshaw, and Destin Conrad. He also co-wrote the theme song for the television series The Queen Latifah Show. In 2025, Harrold performed at the induction ceremony of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, paying tribute to Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa, and many other iconic artists. Whether performing on stages around the world or composing for film and television, Harrold pours his heart into every note.
“The only thing that defines a genre is its rhythm,” he says—a conviction that fuels his fearless exploration of music’s emotional and cultural possibilities. His concerts—at once raw and virtuosic, intimate and grand—have captivated audiences around the world. At the Love Supreme Festival, critics described his performance as “masterful” and praised it as a sign of an artist continually pushing toward new horizons. Offstage, Harrold is a dedicated Artistic Advisor for Jazz St. Louis and for the MATI (Music at the Intersection) Festival in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
A passionate advocate for social justice and equity, he uses his platform to inspire change and empower the next generation. “The future of the trumpet.” — DownBeat Magazine
“Equal parts music and message.” — Billboard
