Rémi Cormier

As part of the Grand Prix de la Relève Festi Jazz – KSA Avocats et Notaires 2025, Festi Jazz international de Rimouski, presented by Québecor, is proud to present a performance by Rémi Cormier.

With a master’s degree in jazz performance and composition from the Université de Montréal, trumpeter Rémi Cormier has made a name for himself on the jazz scene, both in Quebec and internationally, and is now considered one of the most talented trumpeters of his generation.

Also a composer, he brings a breath of fresh air and modernity by fusing genres and cultures, notably on his debut album: Glimpse, which will earn him the Radio-Canada jazz revelation award in 2023.

Rémi Cormier will present songs from his new album, due for release in autumn 2025. This one will have hip-hop and soul influences reminiscent of the music of Robert Glasper and Roy Hargrove, while retaining the essence of his more complex compositions, with energetic, dizzying solo sections. It will incorporate computer loops and sequences to add an electronic layer.
