MISC, a mutant jazz instrumental trio based in Montreal, backs up its cinematic melodies with solid grooves. While his aesthetic revolves around the pinao-bass-drums formula, the use of various effects, synthesizers, atypical percussion and sampling forms a sonic mosaic that transcends the traditional jazz idiom. Founded in 2010 and winner of numerous awards since, MISC has taken its compositions to several continents. Moving from meditative introspection to psychedelic-prog flights of fancy within the same piece, MISC’s music draws on every conceivable influence without lacking in coherence. Jérôme Beaulieu, William Côté and Jérémi Roy, renowned musicians on the Quebec music scene (Daniel Bélanger, Tire le Coyote, les Louanges, Esmérine, Bellowe, etc.), put a great deal of thought into it and composed it together.
